posted Apr 9, 2011, 11:13 PM by NAVYUG Info
Maize prices in the past week or so have been more or less stable and good demand is witnessed. The demand from the starch manufacturers and feed industry has kept the current spot prices much higher than the last year. The arrivals from Bihar regions are started hitting the spot markets which is having good buyers support as the quality is not bad for start of the season.

According to third advance estimates the production of maize is projected around 20.23 million tons. According to the trade sources, the local demand is reported to be much higher than the export demand. Lower carry forward stocks are also reported across the spot markets for next crop year.
